Hello,

I’m debating between outright resigning or taking a Leave of Absence. I honestly don’t think I’ll be coming back within a year anyway.

If I take an LOA and end up not returning, but then decide to apply for state service again 2 years later, will it reflect poorly that I took an LOA and never came back? Or would it look better if I simply resigned now and reapplied later?

I’ve had a solid file and reputation during my stare service so far. A good few of my probation reports have been higher than standard.

My Union is SEIU1000

Curious if anyone in state service or HR has experience with this.
