ANY ADVICE FOR A COLLEGE STUDENT

Hello,

As the title states im an upcoming junior in college and wanted to know my next steps career wise. My major is CIS I have a 3.3 GPA for personal reasons. Im looking into trying to land an internship within the next year or at least before I graduate. Some experience is better than no experice lol. However im debating on how to spend my time this summer to set myself up for success. I came into college planning on getting into project management but now im debating if I want to go into cybersecurity. I'm not completely sure what I want to do as of right now. I would also be interested in government positions as well. I've been told to look into certifications but which ones are good to look into, especially for a college student? Is there anywhere that you would reccomend I apply to for an internship? Are there any internship programs that help you to land an internship at the end that I should look into? Also any advice in general would be extremely helpful.

Please be kind,

I’m taking Intro to Programming next semester and was wondering what can I do over the summer to set myself up for success. I don’t know much about coding as I was told by several people you don’t need to learn to code before becoming a CIS major. If you had to take the class over again what would do you wish you would have done differently or done before the class to help keep you on track?
