Living in Castro with a NB?

Hi all! Hopefully this is the right group to post in, if not please lmk! I’ve been living in Pac Heights for the past 4 years but thinking about moving to the Castro (near Le Marais bakery on 18th) for a bigger place. My husband and I are expecting and would have a newborn. Do you think it’s a good place to live with a baby? What are some pros and cons? Thanks for any advice!

Hi SF crew! I’m a first time parent expecting in September 2026 and am curious to hear about any recommendations for daycare / preschool centers that accept 6 month+ kiddos. Ideally looking for full day care (eg 8-5) and specifically looking in Pac Heights / Noe Valley areas.

Our baby will likely be attending daycare starting in April 2027 and I want to start getting on waitlists where I can. Thanks for any recommendations or specific “stay away” advice. Thanks!
