Terminated with no formal notice

I went in an unpaid medical leave summer of 2024, sent in medical notes regularly, Jumped through every hoop that they required, and just found out I was terminated the end of December. They even required a note after they apparently terminated me. No formal notification was given to me that I was being terminated. They rarely communicated with me, I just happen to look at my payroll account this morning to see it terminated. It used to say inactive. I was with the company almost 14 years when I went off. It wasn’t for lack of trying that I was off. I got stuck in the medical system. It took until recently to get any kind of diagnosis. I hope was to get treatment and possibly go back If I was able to.

I’m not really sure If I have any rights and what they are. Any advice would be appreciated. I am in Alberta. Thank you.

Legal termination?

I went on sick leave in summer 2024, jumped through every hoop they wanted, and just found out I was terminated the end of December 2025. I was never given written notice of termination. They even requested a sick note after the date of termination I found on my payroll account. I’m not sure if they have the right? Or if I should do anything about it. I’m in alberta. And was there almost 15 years.
