Lately it feels like every apartment on the Bronx jumps a few hundred dollars the second a new lease starts, even when the building itself clearly hasn’t improved at all. Some listings look solid at first, then once you start looking into the management or building history a little deeper it completely changes the vibe. I was checking out one place recently and ended up going down a rabbit hole on streetsmart before realizing the luxury pricing suddenly made a lot less sense.
I want to know if people here have actually managed to negotiate rent recently or if landlords know someone will just pay the asking price anyway?
