My SD request was denied by Science Advising because I missed one midterm and the final, and apparently did not meet the 30% coursework threshold required for SD approval.At this point, it feels like continuing to fight for SD probably will not go anywhere, so I’m thinking about trying to apply for a Late Withdrawal (W) instead.
Has anyone had a similar experience or successfully received a Late Withdrawal after an SD denial?
Hey, I applied for an SD a while ago and it’s still showing as “under review” on Workday. I’ve already followed up with Science Advising multiple times but haven’t gotten any clear update, and my instructor said no one has contacted them for any information yet. I’m starting to get worried since this affects my grades and I need to submit a program transfer soon—has anyone experienced this before, and is there anything else I should be doing besides emailing advising?
I’m honestly just really speechless right now. I just found out I lost a noticeable amount of marks because of attendance from Week 1, which was during the add/drop period. At that time I was still trying to figure out my schedule and wasn’t even sure if I’d stay in the course, and I don’t even clearly remember whether I got into the section in Week 1 or Week 2 but I definitely didn’t attend in the first week. And now that’s being counted against me and actually affecting my final grade. I get that there’s an attendance policy, but this just feels really unfair. I don’t even know what to say anymore.
