So I (high school junior) wrote a paper (primary author) with a professor at a t-20 university (co-author) regarding the intersection of politics and economics where I used various statistical strategies (regressions, forecasting tests and other complex things which might dox me)

The paper is good and I submitted/got accepted into a journal till I found out that it isn’t that good (somewhat predatory) - now I’m submitting to other legit econ journals but I’m not sure if it’ll be accepted/published by college applications (Today is April 30 and I need it by ~November 1)

What do I do? I don’t want to do some sh*tty high school journal, and I want/know it can get into something reputable.

Only problem is that the professor Im with is not in economics rather in statistics/poly sci. So what do I do? My only resort is r/academiceconomics so help a brother out regarding potential research publication opportunities and all (~10k words, 30 pages, presented at some high schooler conferences but not ISEF because my region does not have it)

Important information for next year's application cycle - don't apply to t20's because you won't get in due to my application - or am I just delusional?

Hooks:

No Hooks, high income, south asian, Midwest private school with not that much competition ( i am a mouth breather though)

Stats:

4.0 UW 4.75 W no class rank but I’m valedictorian of 200

SAT/ACT - no one in Midwest really takes SAT i think but ACT is 33, retaking till 35-36, waiting on a school day score (should be good i presume)

not much APs offered, did AP World (5) in 10th, 11th grade is Bio, Stats, APUSH, Lang, self studied Econ (4s) - have extenuating circumstance of why its not a 5 (not bc I’m a mouth breather)

taking Calc BC, Lit, Physics, APES and others next year (15 by the time i graduate), 11 at school

ECs

Research at a t20 uni, submitted and accepted to be published in a peer-reviewed journal - undergraduate/postgraduate journal, Econ + STEM mix, pretty interesting - primary author and got it presented at conferences too (not ISEF cus i missed deadline lol)
Finance club founder and president, managing 7 figures through school with good returns, online financial literacy thing through social media with pretty big impact and the general guest speakers and stuff
Business co-founder and cfo (food industry), partnered with 1k stores, raised a couple thousand $, user base is couple thousand as well - some awards came from this
hackathon winner - made a robot for a Fortune 500 company to improve their workflow and won 10k, and surprisingly they want us to build it for them in commercial/professional use (On the app, its phrased like it was somewhat a comp/internship/career oriented)
Robotics - captain, raised couple thousand, software side with decent regional awards and outreach (couple hundred hours) *only concern is that we haven’t gotten to state or onwards* - team itself isn’t good lmao - we'll be good next year though trust
sport - highly ranked, varsity all 4years, school and club, could get offers, not sure how to leverage in the app
Financial board in my state, pretty high impact but haven’t started yet and only during senior year, pretty relevant to major
internship: Research at a firm locally - only like a month - STEM + Econ mix regarding financial data access for poor people, doing in the summer, will get an article published + teach to lots of organizations
Speech Club President - some impact, state level awards
Separate Club leader- some impact, regional/state awards
Job - Lot of time commitment, related to sport and like volunteering/paid (multiple orgs)

Model UN
Volunteering

Last 3-4 isn't substantial

I know it’s over 10 but like yk what I’m going to do, so dw abt it. It seems like a lot but its not that crazy (trust me)

Awards:

Published paper - National, 11 or 12th grade, not sure what to put it as

AIME Qual - National, 11 (I didn’t take AIME cus I was sick and didn’t have time to prep, probably would have gotten like a 3-6 but I don’t think those scores would have mattered, lowk regret not taking it now that i think about it)

Finance Comp (relating to business, got some funding this way) - top like 5-10% - National, 11th and then waiting on some comps still so it'll add on to the list

AP Scholar (with distinction after this year i guess) - National, 12

Hackathon Win - State, 11

and some other misc speech/debate ones if anything

LORs: (no clue how many I need) -

Counselor 9-10/10 (he loves me, one of his best kids, compares me to a kid who got into Harvard - ts kid didnt even go to my school lol)

History/School NHS/Honors Program - 8-10/10 (he’s kinda bipolar but like I’m chill and goof off in his class but he likes me)

Maybe my finance club teacher - he might lowkirkenuenly ai it but like 9-10/10 (he loves me, regards me highly)

Additional one if possible would be the research professor
