I’m not asking for a diagnoses I’m just asking if this sounds familiar.

I’ve always gotten headaches. The elementary school nurse knew me by name and was sick of me for how often I went complaining of a headache. As I’ve gotten older I cycle through headache types but the most common is either a headache behind my eyes (or eye) and temples. I’ve always chalked them up to stress or my other medical issues (I have anxiety and a couple sleep disorders), however when doing reaserch today I saw something labels a TMJ headache which is at the temples or crook of neck.

I experience these often on top of on somedays I’ll notice a popping or rushing sound on my right side, when I open my jaw. My jaw also feels too “loose” sometimes. Like it’ll move all over the place. Sometimes I’ll bite my tongue when I’m just closing my mouth or pinch the sides of my tongue or it’ll move side to side when I close it. I alway just chalked this up to the fact I had one of those devices that correct your over bite in for two years so brought my lower jaw forward.

When looking up the causes I couldn’t figure out what would have caused this. I grind my teeth a bit but nothing super noticeable. I then remembered years ago when playing Ga Ga ball at camp I accidentally got punched in my right jaw. I think I heard a pop but I’m not sure. It didn’t hurt that bad or swelled so I assumed it was fine but now I’m wondering if maybe it caused the disk in my right jaw to move and it’s slowly gotten worse but I’m also worried I’m being a hypochondriac. I think my jaw has only ever locked once and that was years ago and even then I don’t know if that was a dream or not.

I guess I’m just asking for thoughts or if I should see a doctor or not. I’ve already got other medical stuff going on so I don’t want to start a process that’s going to take years and be super expensive, but I also don’t want to inadvertently create more problems for myself in the future.

Also sorry for any bad grammar or formatting issues I’m typing this on my phone.
