[HIRING] AI Engineering Lead — UK Remote-first — Early-stage AI startup (DM to apply)

We're an early-stage AI startup building a multi-agent platform for the enterprise market. Architecture is in place and we're heading into our first commercial launch. You'd be joining a small team of operators with deep domain expertise and prior experience building and selling a startup — people who've done this before.

**The role**

This is a founding engineering hire. You'll lead, develop, and advise on the product, owning the intelligence layer end-to-end:

- Multi-agent pipeline design and continuous improvement

- Prompt engineering, chain-of-thought, context management

- RAG / knowledge layer (vector DBs, embeddings, retrieval logic)

- Human-in-the-loop handoffs

- Integration with backend and UI

Not prompt tinkering — systems engineering applied to AI. You'll partner day-to-day with the Product Owner (they own the what, you own the how) and set the engineering standards for the product.

**Stack:** Python / FastAPI, Node.js, Anthropic Claude, Postgres + pgvector (Supabase), AWS Fargate

**You'll bring**

- Real production experience with LLM APIs (Claude, OpenAI, etc.) — beyond toy projects

- Strong Python; FastAPI, async patterns

- Hands-on with vector DBs and RAG in production

- Systems thinking, bias for shipping, comfort with ambiguity

**Bonus:** AWS containerised deploys, multi-tenant SaaS, prior early-stage startup experience

**Comp:** Competitive base, DOE, plus meaningful equity stake.

**Location:** Remote-first, UK-based preferred.

DM me with a short note on something AI-related you've built and what you learned. CV optional at first contact.
