So you know that trope where one partner gets pregnant but then there’s some misunderstanding that makes them think the other partner doesn’t want it/them or there’s some danger so they run off with the baby without telling anyone they were pregnant?

Anyone know any fics where LWJ is the one to do this? I know the number of fics where it’s LWJ instead of WWX is certainly a lot lower if there’s any at all but I thought I’d try regardless. Any au or setting is fine.

At the moment I’m not interested in or looking for fics where it’s WWX running with the baby so please don’t get my hopes up by recommending one.

Do you think there would be more Jiang siblings because YZY insisted they keep having them until she gets a girl she can engage to JZX? Or would she think one heir is enough and have JYL be an only child? For a bloodline based clan system none of the clan leaders seem eager to have children, with all of them having only 1 or 2. Besides JGS but even he only has 1 legitimate child.

JYL has it bad in a different way than canon. Sure she doesn’t have some fiancé that hates being engaged to her at first and she doesn’t have the limited freedoms of a woman. But weak cultivation was frowned upon even on a daughter. It would be so much worse if it’s a son with weak cultivation, let alone the heir. YZY would treat her (now him) so much worse than in canon and would be pushing him constantly.

JC wouldn’t be the heir anymore. This would not save him from YZY’s parenting, but it would be a lot less than in canon because she’s focusing that on his older brother most of the time. I imagine he would feel ignored a lot.

JYL and JZX wouldn’t be engaged so WWX and JC wouldn’t hate and get into fights with JZX about it. This might stay the same as canon though, it depends on if YZY keeps having children until she had a daughter and if JZX treats being engaged to this daughter the same way he treated being engaged to JYL.

I acknowledge that being raised as the heir instead of as a daughter would change his personality but I don’t think it would make him completely unrecognizable from his canon self.

I’m unsure if his good, caring personality would make it so people like him and his clan is able to strengthen their ties to the other clans or if it would have the opposite effect, with some clan leaders not respecting a ‘weak’ heir or clan leader and thus worsening the relationships between clans.

What I can remember is that it turned out WWX’s parents hadn’t died but had instead time travelled so everything happens like in the book but they show up post canon. They look for WWX at Lotus Pier first but find him in the Cloud Recesses afterwards. They approve of LWJ as their in law. I remember this scene where WWX’s mom talks to LQR and is like “My son is your family now so you best treat him like it if you don’t want your beard shaved off again.”
