I’m moving out of my rental house tomorrow and have heard not great think about how my landlord had handled security deposits in the past. I’m worried that since the person who does the house work is her husband he will just quote and charge excessive rates for simple repairs. Example: in our contract it says any nail hole will cost $90, despite all he does to fix the wall is toss some spackle on it. Is there any way to make sure we don’t get screwed by the two of them just price gouging us on repair work?
