I Suck at Underquest
First play of Underquest! I have been waiting for so long for this to ship. Came in a week ago and finally had time to play. I got absolutely wrecked before I even finished Quest 3😭.
Something to note about this game: the enemies hit HARD! I was getting creamed by almost every enemy, partially due to dice unluck, but also some admittedly bad choices. One goblin got me for at least 9 damage before I was able to kill it. I tried to brew a potion to heal, but it blew up and cursed me😭 Eventually the Shade depicted put me out of my misery.
Note #2: I recommend paying a lot of attention to the race/class/familiar build you select to start the game. I just picked randomly and ended up with an Agility proficient character who had an Agility stat of 1. Made it much harder to do enough damage and take advantage of my starting skill at the same time.
I was still able to get some really cool reward cards in my play through (Ice Wand and Skeleton Key) which was quite fun.
Overall, I think sometimes this game will have it out for you w/ the card draw and dice randomness, but I assume if you make better choices than I did that will help a lot.
More plays to come! Fingers crossed I make it further next time.
