I am not a photographer, however I really want to play one during our first (and most likely only) trip to Yellowstone next month. My friend is letting me borrow his Canon R8 for the trip. I’ve been practicing with it and watching videos on shooting wildlife, but that’s the extent of it.

I have reserved a spotting scope, tripod, and an iPhone mount to pick up when we arrive, but I can’t help thinking I’m going to be really sad to get out there and not have a long range range for lamar valley and other wildlife sightings.

Would it be crazy for me to rent a RF 100-500mm or 200-800mm lens for the R8 or would I be in over my head?
