My parents deserve better
Few days ago, my mom had a duty related to work and was staying away for 2 days. Dad would pick her while returning as she would reach home late, so he asked me if I'm joining him, that we'll just go outside with mom for a bit and eat outside. I've not went outside with my parents much since 10th because of hectic studies and coaching, so I thought why not and agreed. Usually I hesitate coz I'm more of a person who prefers sitting at home and doing things I like, but I agreed simply to spend time with them. So dad told get dressed by 5, leave by 5 30 enn.
But aa day aayapozhekum idk what happened. Me and grandparents went to vote, we came back really tired and hot coz it was burning outside. I lost the will to go out in this weather, so I thought I'll inform dad but he was asleep so oru 5 mani aavate enn vicharichu. Big mistake. By 5 some guests arrived, dad was still asleep, but sometime later he woke up and dressed up(we live on another floor from our grandparents, so dad didn't meet the guests). I totally forgot about telling him I ain't coming and talked with the guests, and by 6 he came down to call me.
And that's when he saw, I was still in my home clothes. I told him I'm not coming, I feel tired, and he nodded. He just asked ninak nerathe enkilum paranjudarno and left, looking hurt.
I genuinely felt so bad. Like I wanted to go back in time somehow and go with them, or tell him earlier that I wasn't going. But this was a major thenditharam from my part. He had waited till 5 30 thinking I was going along, and they were looking forward to spending time with me more. Mom also thought I would come to pick her. They do so much for me and yet I can't even go out with them for once. I'm rlly attached to my dad because he's a very chill person who never scolds me, but at this point I wished he scolded me instead of remaining silent like that. I will never repeat this ever again, but I just wish I'd never done that...
