This idea doesn’t replace the main characters in a Call of Duty campaign—it just adds a custom operator who fights alongside Task Force 141 as part of the squad.
You’d still play a fully linear, scripted campaign like normal in Call of Duty. Same story, same missions, same characters like Soap, Ghost, Price, and Gaz.
The difference is you’re not just a POV character—you’re a consistent squad member.
Core idea:
Create your own operator (appearance + identity)
Fight alongside Task Force 141 throughout the campaign
Story stays completely linear and unchanged
Squad interaction:
Dialogue changes based on mission performance and trust
Bonds develop through gameplay only (no menus or RPG systems)
Occasional safehouse/transport conversations reflect squad relationship
Rare emotional moments (1–2 max per campaign) based on bond level
Replay value:
Same campaign every time
Different squad dynamics depending on how you played
Epilogue tone changes based on relationships, not story branches
Would this kind of “squad member” system improve COD campaigns, or would it take away from what already works?
