I really, really wanted to read a story at least a good chunk of it is set in ancient China (I am Chinese), but it’s been SOO hard and time consuming. I also see why there’s such a lack of such stories. The finding backgrounds is the hardest, coming up with outfits that seem like they fit the time and culture, and because I’m a perfectionist, I want everything to look good and natural. Like if I have no background characters, it bothers me until I add them.
But I’m really passionate about this story. Even though I’m sharing just a few seconds of it right now, and I do want readers, I’m writing this story for myself. I want to read this story I’m writing, and that’s how I know I won’t lose passion for it. I actually really want to read my own story. I get excited just thinking about the big plans I have to get some awesome scenes. Readers would be awesome and obviously I very much want them, but it’s not mandatory in this passion project of mine.
