So I am needing a laparoscopic hysterectomy (keeping ovaries) due to one large fibroid, suspected endo and just horrific periods. I turn 40 next week. Very active and in good shape, although endo pain flares limit me. My dr and husband want me to go ahead and have the surgery in June when I can get in. I am wondering if I want to wait until late fall since I am very active during the summer with my kids (5 and8 years) and hiking and I am worried that I will miss a whole summer due to the recovery. My dr seems to think my recovery will be relatively easy and feeling relatively good 3-4 weeks post op, but not back to full exercising/activity. Would those that have had it wait until you know you won’t feel depressed missing the most active time of year? I have been dealing with pain for so long honestly what’s a few more months.
