Hey Guys, so I have recently applied for the Amex gold and gotten approved (Card is supposed to show up in the mail next week but hasn’t yet) - I have since been reading up about Cobalt and I know it serves as an excellent accumulator for groceries. One of the primary reasons I chose Gold is because of the welcome points.
I spend about 1k a month on groceries and things (Mostly Costco / Canadian Superstore). I have 0 spending on Gas (my company pays for gas on the company card). I will use the points for Aeroplan redemption mostly.
I wonder if I made a mistake and If I should have instead chosen the Cobalt and If I can make a switch?
Also should I take the platinum instead? I didn’t feel like paying $799 for no perceived benefit although I read somewhere it may only be $400 after certain subsidies
