Project: Hail Mary and the Blip-A (Project: Hail Mary): When the sun starts dimming due to an interstellar microbe, a United Nations task force led by Eva Stratt invests over a trillion dollars into a vessel capable of reaching a star system unaffected by the microbe, and into global terraforming to support the protect. The planet Erid constructs the Blip-A for the same purpose, and it takes the largest collaboration between Eridian scientists in history.
Operation: Zero Dawn (Horizon: Zero Dawn): After a self-replicating robotic swarm threatens to end all life on Earth, Elizabet Sobeck collects the world's greatest minds to create an artificial intelligence named GAIA that will terraform and reseed the Earth after all life goes extinct. A military campaign called Operation: Enduring Victory buys the project time, and gives the public false hope for their own survival.
Far Zenith (Horizon: Forbidden West): Created in tandem with Zero Dawn, Far Zenith is a project led by billionaire Osvald Daalgard. It intended to repurpose an abandoned interstellar spacecraft called the Odyssey, constructed to establish a colony on the planet Sirius, in order to preserve the human race using new terraforming tools developed by Operation: Zero Dawn. But secretly, the Odyssey will only accept the world's elite who are funding the project as a personal life raft.
Noah’s Ark (religious tradition): When God brings a flood to destroy the sinful on Earth, he instructs Noah and his people to create an ark capable of saving them, as well as a male and female of every animal species, in order to repopulate the Earth following the flood.
