On Monday, May 4 the Department of Justice (DOJ) sued Minnesota in an attempt to prevent the state’s climate fraud lawsuit against Big Oil from moving forward.
“Minnesota’s case against Big Oil, filed in 2020, is also advancing and is even further along procedurally. It accuses ExxonMobil, the American Petroleum Institute, and Koch Industries and one of its subsidiaries of deliberately spreading false information about climate change in order to inflate profits from unchecked oil and gas sales, in violation of the state’s consumer protection laws.”
Why the federal government has chosen to take on a case in order to defend multinational corporations at the taxpayers expense is inexcusable.
