Need reassurance about my clothing as a male paediatric psychologist (clothing discussion)
I work in a small private practice that sees kids and teens. I'd love some outside perspective about my clothing; I'm the only male (M29) who works there so I have no direct comparison. I'm 5'7" and I'm also hopeless with fashion. I'm in Aus and it's getting colder weather-wise here.
My aim is to strike a balance between office worker (probably what I feel most confident looking like) and casual/fun. I wear pants and a button shirt. I rotate between black, grey and beige pants. I wear black or brown dress shoes. I have lots of neutral coloured shirts but some have subtle 'flavour' like stripes or pokadots. Crucially I wear my shirts untucked. I'm unsure if this is a social faux pas... no one has ever called it out. I wear them untucked because I don't like how it looks tucked and because I tend to overheat easily.
I'd love to start wearing more sweaters/cardigans/jumpers (dont know the difference) but I fear overheating. I also really love wearing a black overcoat, but I've been told I should be wearing sweaters/cardigans/jumper beneath it, not just 'raw shirt'.
So I'm curious about your thoughts on my wardrobe. Is it okay? How can I refine it?
Thanks so much.
Also I like to mainly shop at UNiQLO, Connor and H&M.
