Facts about a series you are tired of hearing

“Hey, did you know Sonic isn’t that popular in Japan.”
“Hey, did you know Shujinko means Protagonist in Japanese,”
“Hey, hey buddy, did you know that animation was done by a p*rn artist. Crazy, right?”

Basically stuff you keep hearing people say about something you like that gets repeated over and over to the point of annoyance.

Forgotten Video Game Movies

So I got this idea after seeing a post online talk about how nobody talked about Detective Pikachu anymore considering it was praised for being very faithful to the games back when it first released. That got me thinking about some of the other Video Game Movies, especially those made in the last decade or two, that have seemingly been forgotten to time. Either because they were bad adaptations or they were simply unremarkable. Stuff like Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, Assassin’s Creed, and Warcraft.

As an example, Ratchet and Clank had an animated movie in 2016, being a loose retelling of the first game. It seemed like it was going to be the best adaptation we’ve gotten for a video game in quite some time considering it was not only going to be animated, meaning they reused assets from the games, but they also had the voice actors from the games (Ratchet, Clank and Quark) reprise their roles. It seemed promising. But then it released and it was like the most generic and forgettable kids movie ever. It didn’t follow the themes of the original, Ratchet felt like a generic good guy protagonist, Dr Nefarious was shoehorned in for some reason, most of the jokes were either unremarkable or not funny, and I felt like the weapons were underutilized considering how iconic they are in games. The only thing that’s remembered from this movie is the tie-in game which was a decent and fine remake of the original.
