Hi every one!
I'm planning a 12-day trip in August and doing some preliminary research. Would like some general, overarching ideas. It's my first time in Australia and I'll be on my own (solo). Also, I can't drive, so no car rentals :"). I'm from Singapore, so I'm used to temperatures 25-35 degrees.
Some preferences I like when travelling:
- Nature / Beautiful Sceneries: I'm thinking sprawling mountains, open fields, seaview, parks, etc
- Minimal crowds: I'm okay with big cities, but crash out a bit when surrounded by crowds and crowds in super touristy places.
- Walking: I'm cool with walking a lot. I can do with a few to several hours of walking every day as long as there are rest stops.
- Chill: I don't mind missing out on big, touristy places. I don't mind taking time to walk around small estates too. Maybe just 1 or 2 destinations/ideas per day.
Some ideas I have for now:
- Cairns-Brisbane-Sydney: 3 arc trip going south; a few days in each. Travelling between the cities might take up quite a bit of time though, but I'll have some time for my body to acclimatise.
- Brisbane only (Sunshine Coast, down to Gold coast): a few days in each area. I'm not too sure what is there to see here yet.
- West coast (Ningaloo Reef to Perth): no concrete plans yet. Just saw Ningaloo reef looked really cool haha. Concern is mainly the travel time and lack of public transport options in these areas (I think?)
No need for detailed responses. Just feasibility of the ideas; whether there's enough to do in each location over 12-days, etc. I don't mind if you have more to share too or other places to recommend (like northern coast?) too, of course haha. Thanks!
