How do you describe how your partial seizures feel to others?
For a long time now, people have asked me how it feels to have my TLE (partial) seizures, and the auras leading up to it. But i can't really describe it to them in a way that makes sense to them.
For, sometimes, days leading up to a seizure it feels like... an electric ice cube being dragged over the surface of my brain, and a mild buzzing. Like a taser on a low setting with a peppermint-cool feeling. I really hope that makes sense to any of you. 😂 And my muscles get itchy, like they need to extend and stretch, but doing that doesn't make the feeling go away.
When the seizure is actually coming, i get a phantom ozone smell (like the TV static smell) and loud ringing in my ears, then suddenly getting virtigo and extreme nausea. And it feels like someone is turning up the power on that taser and that electric feeling becomes overwhelming. And while all of this is going on my brain is frantically honing in on an obscur memory (always a different one) that i completely forgot ever happened (or maybe they never happened and my brain is just making it up, I'm honestly not sure but they feel like memories). Then after it's all done, i feel like I've been hit by a truck, physically and mentally exhausted, and can barely stand up.
Is any of that normal or familiar for any of you? I don't how much of it is a common vs. unique experiences type of situation, since it's brain stuff.
