Hi folks I've a question regarding tying a mono/fluoro leader to a braid line. Sorry if this has been asked a million times but I can't seem to get an answer to my exact predicament :) so I'm a bit wary about going forward.

I have a reel with 50lb braid line and would like to go out trout fishing. Would it be ok to tie something like a 6lb mono or fluoro line to the braid line or is the difference too stark?

I can't find the spare spool so that's not an option. I'd be using a double uni knot as that's what I'd be most comfortable with but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks in advance!
