Spanish dietitian planning to live in Romania and work remotely for UK companies — anyone done something similar?
Hi everyone! I'm a Spanish-trained dietitian (equivalent to a BSc in Human Nutrition and Dietetics) with fluent English, planning to move to Romania to study while working remotely.
My plan is to:
- Register with the HCPC via the international route (Spanish NHD degree)
- Set up a Romanian micro-company (SRL) to invoice UK clients as a freelancer
- Work remotely from Romania for UK health/wellness companies
My questions:
Has anyone registered with the HCPC from outside the UK? How was the process and did your Spanish/EU degree get accepted without issues?
Once HCPC registered, have you worked remotely for UK companies (Second Nature, Oviva, Noom, etc.) from another country? Did they accept you as a freelance provider rather than an employee?
Any companies or platforms you'd recommend that are genuinely open to remote dietitians based outside the UK?
Any gotchas I should know about — insurance, GDPR, contracts — when invoicing UK companies from an EU country?
