Has anyone used the Lionel base 3 with the mth dcs wtiu? I know it’s technically possible to have both but there isn’t much information online. MTH’s website says you can plug the micro usb cable that comes with the base 3 into the wtiu, but I still don’t understand how that setup works. Does the base 3 still need to be connected to track ground (I assume so) and how do you set it up once they’re connected. Is it just plug and play once you have the right version of the firmware on the wtiu, and if they’re in this setup with the wtiu as the master controller can I still communicate with the base 3 directly?
I know there’s a lot to unpack here, but this is a really complex topic that I haven’t heard a lot about. I’d appreciate it if anyone who has used both before would be able to share their experience.
