First, I've seen some people say that during this scene, Sora is looking at Kairi when him has the memories of sacrifice in the name of true love. This confused me because Sora is looking directly at the light that's guiding them back to the graveyard.

Regarding the light, on one occasion Riku's light led Terra to Destiny Islands, Sora's light led Aqua to Destiny Islands, or when Kairi's light led Sora to a memory with his grandmother, or when her light helped him recover the memories he had lost. Now, in this scene, I think Sora and Kairi are following the light of others to return to them.

Besides, when it comes to sacrifice, true love makes them both end up together, but we all know that Sora and Kairi ended up separated, just like what happened with Elizabeth and Will, or Buddy and Andy.
