I had been hearing a lot about this new treatment, so I was very excited when I heard a med spa near me was offering this. I am 53. My major concern is skin laxity on my lower face. I do micro-needling, Botox, and I've had a small amount of filler in my temples. If you aren't familiar with this new treatment, Xerf is a new device from Korea that uses radio-frequency to heat the deep layers of the skin. It is supposed to help build collagen and help tighten skin. I was VERY nervous about the heat part because I also melasma on my cheeks. The last thing I wanted to do was aggravate that with any type of heated device.

I went into this not expecting a miracle because I know there is just so much these types of treatments can do. I know I need a facelift to help with sagging skin / structural damage.

The procedure was painless, but there were a few things that surprised me. First, it took a long time -- about an hour and a half. I had my face and neck done. It is painless, but the first few passes felt hot, but once she added more gel (ultrasound gel) it was fine. She spent a lot of time focusing on my jawline. I read before the procedure to drink a ton of water a few days before, so I made sure I was well-hydrated.

When the procedure was done, my face and neck were not red. The only sensation I have is a warmth on my cheeks, but they are cool when I touch them. It's an odd sensation. My face feels tighter and looks much better, but unfortunately I was told this would only last about five days. I will have a second procedure done in about 4-5 weeks. After that procedure, supposedly you see better results. Then, you can do another treatment 6 months (or longer) after that. Like many things that work on building collagen, it's all gradual.

Has anyone else tried this? Is anyone considering having this done? I will post some pictures when I get my next treatment. I don't have super high expectations, but I am hoping for some kind of improvement on my lower face.
