Question specifically targeted towards psychiatry. I (16, F) have been diagnosed ADHD since I was a child, roughly 6 if I remember correctly. I started concerta at age 10 and have been on it since, no breaks. My dose hasn't been raised for at least four years, 36mg. Problem is in early 2023 I was diagnosed with ocd, followed by Tourette syndrome roughly two years later. It wasn't until today, when researching Concertas reaction to other drugs (as a silly conversation about magic mushrooms had me curious, lol) that I found out concerta can on occasion worsen Tourette syndrome.
I'm already going for a checkup in three months due to crappy healthcare stuff and figured I'd bring it up with my doctor then. My question for you guys is what would be a helpful and similar stimulant for someone who has been on concerta for so long. I'm afraid of the effects of being off it being extreme as my appetite gets severely unhealthy and my eating habits are already a worry.
Thanks for any advice you have to spare!
Fyi don't do shrooms if you're on stimulants :/
