iPhone 13 Pro Max served me well. Time for the next one!

Used my iPhone 13 Pro Max caseless for 4 years and honestly got the absolute best out of it.

No scratches on the back cameras, no green line issues on the display, and only a few minor scuffs and dings on the stainless steel frame from daily use. Battery health is sitting at 74%, and the back glass only cracked after 2 falls... after 4 years of being properly manhandled.

Second image is just the tempered glass damage, not the actual display.

Finally made the jump to the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Loving the blue already. Let’s see how long this one survives me. 😌

Will pairing my Apple Watch to my new iPhone affect Apple ID account recovery?

Upgraded to an iPhone 17 Pro Max, reset and sold my old phone, forgot my iCloud password, and couldn’t get OTPs at first because the eSIM got erased with the reset. The password was saved in the Passwords app on the old device too, which is the part that really completed this disaster.

I’ve now gotten a replacement physical SIM with the same number, and OTPs/email verification are working again, but Apple still put me into account recovery.

I have another question though. I still have my Apple Watch linked to the same Apple ID.

If I unpair the Apple Watch and pair it with the new phone while account recovery is in progress, would that help Apple verify the account is actually mine or possibly shorten the recovery time at all? Or would it make absolutely no difference?

Sold my old iPhone, lost my eSIM during reset, now locked out of iCloud on new iPhone

I upgraded to an iPhone 17 Pro Max yesterday and ran into a huge issue. My primary number on my old phone was set up as an eSIM, and before selling the device I reset the phone thinking everything important was already backed up.

The bigger problem is that I forgot my iCloud password because it was saved in the Passwords app on the old phone along with all my other passwords. I did glance at it while resetting the old device, but then forgot it again later. Clumsy mistake, I know. This literally never happens to me. So now I can’t log into my Apple ID on the new phone.

At first, OTPs weren’t even coming through after I clicked “Forgot Password” because there was no SIM in the phone anymore. I ended up going to my carrier store, got a physical SIM with the same number, and now I can receive SMS codes and email verification normally.

But Apple is still showing the account recovery message. I checked again just now and it says: “We’re evaluating your information and will have an update in 18 hours. Apple Support can’t help you shorten the wait time.”

The issue is I urgently need access because the new phone is basically unusable right now. Most of my banking apps, work apps, authenticator apps, and important stuff are tied to this Apple ID.

A few questions;

Has anyone here gone through this before?

How long did account recovery actually take for you guys?

Did you get access within the estimated timeframe?

And is there literally any way to speed this up or access the Passwords app somehow?

Thanks in advance!
