Cambridge Associates

As the title suggests, I am curious if anyone has info on Cambridge Associates, specifically their Investment Analyst program. Is it more middle/back office? Hours? Exits? Main responsibilities? Thanks in advance!

Hi All,

Long time lurker here. I will be graduating this spring with my BBA in Finance and will be working for a F50 company as part of their FDLP program in a LCOL city.

As great as this sounds, I really wanted more. The summer after my sophomore summer I worked in PWM at a BB and Junior summer I worked in AM for a MF. I converted that to a FT offer but I ended up not taking it as I was pulling 90-100 weeks and hated, HATED the work.

I recruited hard for PB, PWM, and CB roles and didn’t land anything, which was surprising but I understood how competitive things were. I took the job that I got at the F50 because of that.

I recently had a call with an analyst (who no longer works at this F50) who advised me to work at this company for a year and then get my MSF to recruit again.

Flash forward to now, I was accepted into Vandy & ND and deferred entry till this time next year, just in case this FLDP is something I enjoy. Both universities offered me partial scholarships.

I really want to work in PB/PWM. I have the social skill set for this and I love the idea of building my own book. I understand it may be not as academically stimulating as say IB or my previous jobs, but PWM would offer me the WLB I want.

What I’m trying to ask is this: would it be a mistake to take on debt to do one of those MSFs? If so, how else should I go about handling this?

Side note: just passed my CFA l1 wanting to specialize in Private Wealth once I reach L3 if that changes anything.

Thanks in advance!
