I love going to the movies and getting totally immersed in them, but all the distractions keep pulling me out and killing the experience. The other night, someone a few seats down had their seat back and their legs up, bouncing their foot up and down. Normally I can tolerate it, but on the other side of them were the strip of lights for the aisle. So in addition to the bouncing foot, the lights looked like they were flashing on and off in the corner of my eye. It was driving me crazy.
I took my candy box and quietly tore it apart, I folded a piece of it could hang on the side of my glasses. Couldn't see the foot bouncing or the flashing lights. I didn't feel it touching my face either.
Afterwards I made another. Now I bring them with me to the movies so I have them if I need them. They'll be great when someone next to me is on their phone. Half the time I nicely ask them to wait til the movie is over, they go off on me as if I had no right to take away their right to be on their phone during the movie.
