What do YOU use meshcore for?

Budding meshcore enthusiast here, my first seedstudio devices (one NRF, one ESP32 S3) are due tomorrow and I'm looking forward to tinkering with them.

I've tinkered with other open source projects before, some I still use today, and some sit in a drawer. The thing that makes the difference is utility. I'm interested, what do you use meshcore for? What problem does it solve for you?

From my research, it seems the best use is for monitoring/getting data from assets (for HomeAssistant) that are a long way from home without having to have a 4G connection - allotments, outhouses, boats etc. Unfortunately I don't have any of those (yet 🤞).

DIY right to manage - a bad or good idea? (England)

Hi All,

After successive governments have failed to deliver substantially on leasehold reform we have decided to bite the bullet and exercise our right to manage. We are a London converted Victorian building with 4 flats and no commercial space. Three of the four flats are on board but one is in the process of selling. Our ground rent is OK but our service charges are ballooning and with no apparent recourse to correct them we have decided to go ahead.

Some brief online research found that there are obviously lawyers who will do this but there seem to be few that proudly announce any specific expertise and cost estimates online seem to vary wildly.

From reading into the process on this amazing resource, it does not seem overly complicated: https://www.lease-advice.org/building-management/right-to-manage/ although there do seem to be a few hazard points, such as getting the notification to the freeholder correct so that they can't challenge it.

My questions are these:

  1. Are we mad to try and do this ourselves - everything from registering the company to serving the notices?
  2. If not, are there any pitfalls or issues we should be wary of along the way?
  3. How feasible is it to get a lawyer in mid-way through or ad-hoc if things go beyond our abilities or if there are specific areas we want help with?
  4. Are there any steps we should definitely get a lawyer in for?

Thank you in advance
