Minnesota USA - Scooter ran into my car, t-bone my front fender, he had stop sign, I had no stop sign
Hi everyone, need some advices on how to proceed with my situation here. I recently got into an accident, a kid on a e-scooter ran a stop sign on the side-walk as I was traveling down the road and t-bone me, damaging my front right fender and front bumper + headlight, estimate repair is 3000+. I slowed down (15-20mph) at the intersection to turn right at the alley but he was behind a park car, a kid less than 4’ I couldn’t see him, he is 11y/o, traveling 25+mph on e-scooter, and no helmet worn. A police report was made, I talked to my insurance and I would have to pay the $1000 deductible to get it fix. Respectively from my point of view this is technically not my fault. If I was to file a case for small claims court, what’re my odds of winning the case?
