How to dispose of laptops securely?
My mum has handed me 2 laptops (one windows, one MacBook) that belonged to relatives who have passed away. We don't have the passwords to access them, and we're pretty sure it has a lot of personal information on it (one of them definitely has word documents where my grandparent wrote their passwords, bank account details, family details etc).
Is there a simple way to wipe these myself? Or a trusted company that I can give these that will wipe them? I've had a Neither of them are high enough spec that I think they're worth much but would be a shame to just destroy them when they could be given away to someone. Unfortunately I'm the designated tech person of the family, I'm only at the level of setting up smart light bulbs and resetting WiFi.
