Recently launched a small SaaS and trying to figure out the best way to get initial traction without spending on ads.

Started submitting to a few directories and noticed some of them bring traffic, while others feel completely dead.

So far tried a couple of the obvious ones, but it’s hard to tell which ones are actually worth the time and which are just noise.

Curious what others are using early on:

  • Which directories gave you real traffic or signups?
  • Any underrated ones that are easy to get into?
  • Did you notice any SEO impact from these listings early on?

Not looking for promo, just trying to avoid wasting time on low-value submissions.

We tried running audits across a few hundred URLs and quickly ran into issues.

Results fluctuate a lot between runs, and it’s hard to tell what actually changed vs what’s just noise.

Tried a few things like limiting runs, scripting batches, focusing on key pages, but nothing feels very reliable so far.

Curious how others deal with this in real setups?

Do you just ignore small changes, average results, or track something else entirely?
