Physical pomodoro timer worth it or unnecessary?

I’ve been using phone and desktop pomodoro timers on and off, but I keep getting tempted by the physical ones people post sometimes.

Part of me feels like having a dedicated timer might make it easier to just start a session without opening another app or getting distracted by notifications. The other part of me thinks a timer is a timer and I’m overcomplicating something that already has free solutions.

For people here who’ve actually used a physical pomodoro timer regularly, did it change anything in practice? Better focus, easier task switching, less friction starting sessions, anything like that? Or did the novelty wear off and you go back to digital?

Would love honest opinions before I buy another productivity thing I convince myself will fix my life lol.

Do physical pomodoro timers actually help you study?

I’ve been thinking about getting one of those physical pomodoro timers for studying, but I can’t tell if it would actually help or if I’m just trying to buy motivation.

I already use my phone sometimes, but the problem is once I touch my phone to set a timer I end up checking something else, and then the whole point is kind of ruined. The little cube timers or visual countdown ones seem like they might lower the friction a bit and make it easier to just start.

Has anyone here used one consistently for studying or focus work? Did it actually make it easier to sit down and get started, or did the novelty wear off pretty fast?

Would love to hear which type you used and whether it was worth buying.

I’m looking to buy a rice cooker that can handle daily use and actually last for years. I make rice pretty much every day, sometimes more than once, so I do not want something that feels flimsy or starts acting weird after a few months.

I have been looking around and I keep seeing the same brands mentioned like Zojirushi, Tiger, Cuckoo, and Aroma, but I’m having a hard time figuring out what is actually worth paying for. I do not need a million fancy settings, but I do want consistent rice, a good nonstick pot, easy cleaning, and something reliable enough that I won’t be replacing it soon.

Budget-wise I’m open to spending more if it genuinely makes sense, but I also do not want to overpay just because a brand is popular.

For anyone using a rice cooker almost every day, which one would you recommend in 2026? Have any of them held up really well over time?
