First AR9 and first FRT= Happy together
I have resisted AR9s for years. I'm an M&P guy and didn't want different types of non M&P 9mm mags laying around. After my local dealer gave me a heads up on Stern Defense and the popularity of FRTs everywhere, I could no longer resist. The end result runs perfectly in semi and FRT with no modifications needed. Zero tuning issues running 115-147 gr ammo.
Build list:
Stern Defense complete 6" 9mm upper,
PSA standard AR15 lower with PSA SBA3 magpul pistol build kit,
Stern Defense lower adapter (M&P),
10 oz KVP buffer with standard carbine spring,
SIG red dot,
Ecco TLX 6.5 9mm suppressor,
And a Partisan FRT.
A few notes:
The barrel is threaded 1/2-36.
A few of my older 15 and 17 round mags had occasional +1 BHO.
The newer 17 and 23 round mags worked great. S&W had like 3 follower changes over the years in 9mm mags. I'm probably not gonna worry about it unless the 23 round mags have issues down the road.. Brass lands in a nice little pile 4' away no matter the ammo.
Do I want to do a .45 ??
