My dearest friend

I’ve come to you again

To ask you to love yourself.

Stop hating on my most precious person

You have amazing power within you

Every word that comes out of your mouth

Speaks life or death. Choose life.

Your words cause you nothing but strife

So speak positively into yourself

Tell you that you’re worth it

Explain that you have beauty

Describe your own magnificent abilities

You can cultivate your world

Your decisions are powerful.

It’s ok to feel weak, but you can keep going

It’s ok if you don’t know the path

But here and now to move forward

Take that next right step

So go on, go forth declaring your self worth.

Declare that you are loved.

Proclaim that you make a difference.

Because you are the most precious you there is.

CAT AND DOG

Longing to be friends

But enemies to a certain end

Dog’s enthusiasm and wanting to play

Gets in the cat's way.

But they do have affection

No where close to perfection

And sometimes when you chance

To look you might catch a glance

Of familiarity and contentment

Without any resentment.

Close as they can be allied

Tears silently slid down your cheek

You are stuck seeing the bleak

It will be ok, my friend

You’re almost to the end…

Of this particular mess

Then onto another stress

You will find your laugh again

And then you will be our comedienne.

Your heart is ten times too big for this world

So your feelings and thoughts are whorled.

What you feel is valid and true

But don’t let them turn you another hue

You have much too great an impact

On those who need your contact

Your life shines for them as a beacon

Helping their defenses weaken.

You see them where they exist

You care for them at their basest

Providing stability and consistency

My friend, you help them fill their vacancy

Freely giving love and affection to them

They know you won’t condemn

You won’t give your heart and then renege

Because your heart is ten times too big

So let yourself cry and think

But never let it push you past the brink

Friend, you are amazing and full of compassion

This is no fleeting fashion

You can feel without diving into the void

Or becoming a useless droid

Celebrate you and your persistence

For your heart is ten times bigger than this existence.

The world has torn me down

Over and over again

Society tells me I’m not right

I say too much

I laugh too loud

I feel too strong.

Yet when I find a kindred spirit

I let down my guard

I grow in love and encouragement.

I shower you with light and warmth.

And then I’m reminded once again

You find me lacking

Of worth

I’m too odd

I’m too much

I don’t look the way I should.

And then when it is my own kindred spirit

Saying these things

It’s like I have been

Killed by a thousand cuts
