Here’s my little vent on my gym experience

I don’t understand why someone would make fun of or even try to discourage a person that is trying to better their life. I know I’m a big guy and I’m finally trying to change that and workout and get to a healthy weight but some gym people are mean… I was at my local gym two weeks ago and yeah I know I’m new to using gym equipment but I think I have good gym etiquette. I was going to use the bench press and there were a couple of guys that next to it and I politely asked if they were going to use it or if it was free. Their immediate response was “look at big boy over here trying to lose weight, no offense but let’s be honest you’re never going to be skinny so please get away from us”. I just stared at then and asked them again if they were using the machine and they looked at me walked away and once I was done with that machine I continued my workout and it felt like they were just sticking around me just looking at me workout and laughing at me for trying to better my health. They would occasionally pass by and say “stop trying your only going to be here for a week just give up”. I finished my workout and when I was leaving I let the people in the front know the experience I had and if they could talk to them about how that were acting but one of the guys looked at me and said that they were regulars and they would never do anything like that cause they personally knew then…. I think that’s the last time I go to that gym and I try a new one. Just wanted to put my experience out there.
