I wish ppl who didn’t write fanfiction would stop publicly complaining about fic writer’s characterization choices
I know it’s never going to happen. And I know that some characterization choices are probably shitty or simplistic. And I get being annoyed when fic writers don’t tag certain characterizations like bashing or woobified. But it grinds my gears when people just complain complain complain about how fic writers interpret a character. Like if you don’t like it, you should write it, and stop making comments about other writers. I feel like I’ve blocked about 50 ppl today.
Fic writers are allowed to be wrong, to be bad at writing, to have biases, to do all these things—yes we know it means some ppl won’t like or be interested in our fic. But even writers who don’t write that way see you shitting on writers who fail to live up to your expectations, and it sucks to see. It sucks.
