Wisconsin Toyota dealerships not negotiating on new RAV4s
I’m very interested in getting a new Toyota RAV4 Woodland. I’ve gone to all of the major dealers in SE Wi. All of them have said the same thing, they don’t go under msrp and they don’t cut any sort of deals. They don’t even order stock for the lot. They said that all of the woodlands are preordered by other customers and because of that it’s been a real challenge to get a test drive because they won’t let people test drive other peoples reservations. I ultimately was able to test drive a limited which has the same drive train. I’m confident this is the vehicle for me. The next step they want me to take is to make a non refundable $500 deposit to get one in. Im worried that if I do that I will lose any sort of negotiating power.
At this point im willing to go to any Toyota dealer that offers me literally any deal. I’m not sure what my actual options are or if they are telling the truth and it is what it is.
Advice or past experiences are welcome!
Update: i appreciate all of the feedback some were more hostile than I was expecting. I’d like to clarify something. I guess the point I was trying to make was if all of the dealers in the area are all offering the same non negotiable deal, wouldn’t I have some sort of advantage as a consumer? Something that Dealer B could offer vs dealer A saying take it or leave it? I understand that it’s not likely to be a price change but some sort of incentive that “sweetens” the deal to pick one dealer over the others?
