Uber Pro Card - Yikes!

So I signed up for this, stupidly, because it seemed like a good way to get cash-back on gas. This has turned into an absolute nightmare! I wish I had done more research.

I've seen other posts about this but I'll recap, for those who don't know...

First of all, let me say, if your only source of money is uber, and you want to use it as your bank, it's probably fine. Neither of those are true for me.

Problems with the pro card. Your money goes straight to this card, after every trip, after every tip, all of that goes straight to this card. Options for transferring money are the following:

Instant transfer to a debit card - ok fair enough that's easy right? Well, not if you don't want to pay at least 3-5x the amount that it costs to transfer money instantly the normal way through the uber driver app to a bank account. I recall it was around $1.50-1.85 generally if I was transferring $500-1000 at any given point? Now I've paid anywhere from $4-7 for EACH transfer to my debit card with the "pro card" method.

So my next logic was - ok cool, I guess I'll just wait for the auto-transfer on Sunday night, and then I won't have to pay to get my money! Guess what? That isn't a thing any more. The only way to transfer without paying is to set up an ACH transfer, which takes 3-5 business days. Also, every time you want to do that, you have to re-enter all your bank info for each transfer. What a pain in the ass!

So next solution: let me cancel this sh*t! To do that, you can't do it on the app, you have to call. So I call - apparently my last 4 of my social doesn't match my DOB - not sure how but ok let's say I made a typo...how do I fix that? Well, according to them, I need to call uber driver support. So I did that - now they want me to call uber pro card support, and then back, and forth and back and forth. No one can help. I guess I'm stuck with uber pro card account for....the rest of my life? I dunno man. Waiting on yet another call back from Uber Pro Card support.

My advice?? TL:DR - STAY AWAY FROM UBER PRO CARD, unless you are planning to use it as your bank! Even then, honestly I'd hesitate after this. Seems like a scam to me.

Edit**

After my most recent discussion after talking to 5 different people so far, she suggested I just pause my payout method - never occurred to me that I could just stop the money from going to the pro card since it all happened automatically. Apparently that's the short-term fix. Whether they'll be able to close it or not, who knows? But for now, I guess all I had to do was change the payout method in my driver app and you can just pause the pro card payout. Solved 75% of my issue at least.

Thoughts on multi-stop rides

So I had a situation a few nights ago that was a first for me. I had a ride request and I noticed about 2 mins before I picked them up that the app said 'drop off updated' and I didn't think much of it. So we proceed on the ride over to the area near UT campus in Austin. If anyone is familiar with that area of Austin it can be a bit of a zoo over there. At any rate, I realize as we pull up to an In-N-Out near campus, my car-play app says 'go to next stop' and not the typical 'end ride' option. So I thought to myself, ok, we are just stopping here because one of them is getting out, or they have a mobile order they need to pick up, right?

No. That wasn't what it was. She said, give us one sec...and they both got out of the car (left backpacks in back seat) and then proceeded to walk in, get in line, order food, and wait for it while I was just sitting in the parking lot like an idiot for 12 minutes. The whole time I was waiting I got more and more frustrated, thinking there's no way that they are gonna have me wait in here for them to go in and order food...but that's exactly what they did.

At any rate, my question is...how would you handle that? I thought - I could cancel ride but then I awkwardly have to go in and hand them their stuff from my car, and I'm not a confrontational person. In fact, when I finally addressed them it was 2 mins before we got to final stop I just kinda mentioned 'hey not trying to be rude, but for future reference....' kind of a thing and explained why it sucks to be a driver - they seemed to be like 'oh my bad...' but it just kind of pissed me off. I have to acknowledge that I'm sure THEY don't know how much it sucks as a driver to just sit there and get wait time (which isn't worth it) but I dunno man. I was pretty annoyed.

My thought process after that was where is the line? If we are supposed to be ok with that, what's to stop someone from being like 'hey just wait here while I run in and do some grocery shopping,' or 'hey, just wait here while we run into six flags for the day...' You know??

What would you have done?

I've never had Sonos or Bose or anything crazy so I don't have much in life to compare it to, other than a Samsung soundbar I picked up secondhand a few years back. I just moved and needed a new TV/Soundbar combo (85" TCL Q6), and I got everything delivered and set up yesterday and I'm so happy! I initially had a little buyer's remorse before it was here and set up, basically just second-guessing if there were better options, but after watching some Star Wars/Marvel stuff yesterday with the kids, I can confirm that I made a solid decision with this set-up! That little subwoofer puts out a pretty crazy amount of oomph!
