A few days ago I got off the Purdue waitlist, admitted for economics. Before that, I was planning on enrolling at UAB for entrepreneurship, staying for one year then transferring hopefully to t20.
Truly, even if i go to purdue, I would plan on either internally transferring to a STEM major which has better internship/job placement, or transferring to a t20 school with a better finance/econ program/pipeline.
The conflict I face now is the extreme grade deflation at purdue. I fear that if the internal transfer fails, a deflated 3.7 at Purdue vs a 3.9 at UAB would leave me disadvantaged against other transfer applicants regardless of purdue’s much higher national rank.
with a few weeks to decide my commitment, what do you think I should do?
