Ive got a massive armoire that needs to be moved. Its too tall to fit through the door (about 8 ft tall) so needs to be dropped to its side to slide through the door. The problem is, if I lift it from one side to drop it down, the massive weight of the thing will cause it to crash down once gravity takes over. How can I do this on my own and lower it to its side safely without it crashing down on its side with full force (and similarly stand it back up safely)? I was thinking a system of ropes. Does anyone have experience with this?
