As the title says I had some question for race day. I am doing my first Ironman in about 2 weeks and although I got my fitness at a good place (probably not amazing but enough to get past the finish line) there are some things I am concerned about.
My biggest issue that came up while training was hydration on the bike. How does it work on race day I know it is provided on the course but do they give you water bottles and then you swap them out on the course?
I used a hydration pack when I was training shoulder I use it race day or is it even allowed on the course?
Do they provide gels ahead of time to carry on the course or do I need to bring my own? (I’ve been training with the same brand they provide on the course so no worries on new nutrition)
What are the rules for changing in the transition zones? From what I looked up as long I don’t expose myself can I just change with a towel wrapped around between each sport? I am planning on wearing a regular swim jammer under my wetsuit and changing clothes for both the bike and run
I am probably overthinking this but after all the time and money put in I don’t want to be disqualified for a dumb reason and I want to make sure I’m fully prepped.
