I just applied to a college for this upcoming fall semester but I really don’t know what I should do in general. Almost all the colleges in my state don’t offer my major, environmental science, and if they do they have a really bad program. I’m currently a 20 year old community college student and have completed all my core classes and have been there for two years as a full time student. I ended up applying to a college that's out of state and is a military school. Their environmental science program is really good and they offer different internship opportunities with government agencies, for example NASA.

I ended up getting accepted and the bill summary came in. It’s just my dad and I in the family and he can’t help me pay at all because we barely make it paycheck to paycheck. A year at this school would come out to 38K, this is with aid already subtracted. Even though I completed two full years and have all my general ed completed, I would be considered a first year sophomore. I got told that I would be a sophomore at any college I applied to even though I have general ed classes completed. If I take summer classes again then I could go in as a second year sophomore this fall. If I did my math right I would be 115K dollars in debt after I complete college, that's if I go for three years. I just need advice on what to do since no one else can because they don’t know anything.
