I recently was accepted to the new MSc in Data Science at SOAS and while I know since its new there isn't much people can tell me about the program, I would be interested to hear what people think about the Econ department and new programs generally. For context, I chose it since I have an IR background and have been interested in developing quantitative skills I missed in undergrad and it seems welcoming to people with a social science background and not much coding experience. I picked SOAS, since I'm an overseas student and the program seems to be marginally cheaper than other London unis and I'm finishing up a year working in Central Asia that I would like to connect to whatever dissertation I end up writing. Anyway, any advice would be appreciated.
