For those who watched the show weekly specially Season 3

I’m looking for some perspective from the OGs who were watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. live back in 2015.

After seasons of "Will-they-won't-they" and Fitz literally crossing the universe to save Jemma, seeing her fall in love with Will on Maveth felt like a total gut punch.

For those of you who had to wait a full week (or more) after that episode aired: Did you think the FitzSimmons ship had officially sunk, or did you stay hopeful it was just a "delay" in their story?

Not knowing what was going to happen next must have been torture. Usually, in TV, when a character finds a new love interest during a separation, it spells the end for the original pairing. Seeing Jemma give up hope and move on—even if it was for survival—felt like such a blow to the "one and only" connection they had.

A few things I’m curious about:

Was the fandom "Team Will" at all, or was everyone just devastated for Fitz?

Did you feel like Jemma’s feelings for Will "cheapened" her bond with Fitz, or did you see it as a realistic reaction to being stranded on a desert planet for six months?

At the time, did you think Fitz was going to give up on her after he found out?

Looking back, we know how it ends, but man, I can’t imagine the stress of scrolling through Reddit the night that episode aired. It felt like the writers were actively trying to break our hearts.
